The aim of this paper is to critically reflect on the opportunities for teachers’ advanced training as part of the ‚Digital Transformation of Education and School’ project in Slovakia. The project pursues three goals: 1) didactically sensible use of digital tools in the classroom 2) a better understanding of such influenced learning processes and 3) promotion of digital and didactic competences of teachers. Their training within the project is carried out through webinars on the lesson plans prepared by experts, participation in intervention research, and in informal networks with learning opportunities, so-called teacher clubs.
In focused interviews with participating teachers and trainers, their motivations, perceptions of useful and redundant contents and activities, and their subjectively assessed impacts of the advanced training are explored. The findings are then discussed in relation to results from other studies on advanced teacher training.
