The professional development practice of German teachers in Bosnia and Herzegovina is characterized by a heterogeneous educational landscape and unequal institutional support. Despite increasing demand for qualified German teachers, legal and administrative requirements often hinder equal participation in professional development.
The article examines the educational policy framework and current challenges that influence the professional development of German teachers in the country. Furthermore, the participation of German teachers in professional development programs offered by the Bosnian-Herzegovinian Association of German Teachers (BHDLV) is examined with regard to individual and institutional characteristics in order to formulate practice-oriented recommendations that can contribute to optimizing the professional development landscape in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
