The research results indicate that the health status of employed DaF teachers is alarming. Since their mental health significantly influences teaching quality and relationship-building, it is essential to develop not only subject-specific competencies but also those that help them better cope with the psychosocial demands of their professional lives as part of their continuous professional development. Accordingly, there is an urgent need for health-promoting interventions. This article advocates for integrating mental health as a cross-cutting issue in the professional development and training of DaF teachers to strengthen their resilience, self-care, ability to act, and job satisfaction in their professional practice.
