Protection of personal data
All data stored about registered or unregistered users of this website is used solely for the appropriate operation and management of scientific journals. The stored data includes information that enables the communication necessary for the publication process, information on the authorship of publications and the participation of individuals in the publication process, aggregated information on reader behaviour, as well as data on the geographical structure of the readership and social aspects of scientific communication.
The editors and publishers of KONTEXTE use such data to support their publishing activities and to optimize the journal. Data that is suitable for facilitating the technical development of the platform can be transmitted to the developer of the platform, the Public Knowledge Project (PKP); except for special cases such as metrics at article level, this is done in anonymized and aggregated form.
The data will not be sold or passed on to third parties by this journal or by PKP, nor will it be used for any purposes other than those stated here.
The authors of the articles in this journal are responsible for the handling of personal data in the context of their research.
Those involved in the publication of the journal observe the existing standards on data protection, including the requirements of the European Union's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which include the following points:
(a) information obligations of the publisher or operator,
(b) the user's right of access to personal data,
(c) the right to correction and deletion, and
(d) "privacy by design".
The GDPR makes it possible to recognize a public interest in the availability of data that is of great importance in the context of scientific communication and that enables the greatest possible integrity of the transmission of scientific publications to be maintained.
All information collected for registration will be used exclusively for the stated purposes and will not be passed on to third parties.
